Privacy policy

Last updated: 30 April 2026.

This policy explains how Johannes le Roux, trading as Johannes le Roux Coaching, collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

1. Who we are

Responsible party: Johannes le Roux, Ideas Cartel, Claremont, Cape Town, Western Cape 7708, South Africa. Contact: leroux.johannes@gmail.com. Information Officer: Johannes le Roux.

2. What we collect

  • Enquiry data — name, email address, the content of your message, and the venture details you choose to share.
  • Technical data — IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. Used in aggregate to improve the site.
  • Cookies — essential cookies always; analytics cookies only after you accept the cookie banner.

3. Why we collect it

  • To respond to your coaching enquiry.
  • To provide the coaching services you've engaged us for.
  • To comply with legal and tax obligations.
  • To improve the site (analytics, only with your consent).

4. Lawful basis

We process personal information with your consent (s.11(1)(a) POPIA) and where it is necessary to perform a contract you've requested (s.11(1)(b)). You can withdraw consent at any time.

5. Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share only with operators that help us run the practice — currently a website host (Vercel/Netlify), a form-handling provider (Formspree), a scheduling provider (Cal.com), and email infrastructure (Google Workspace) — each of which is bound by data-processing terms.

6. Cross-border transfers

Some of our processors are based outside South Africa. Personal information is transferred only to jurisdictions that provide an adequate level of protection or under equivalent contractual safeguards.

7. Retention

Enquiry data is retained for 24 months after last contact unless you ask us to delete it sooner. Coaching records are retained for the duration of the engagement plus seven years for tax and contractual compliance.

8. Your rights

  • Request access to your personal information.
  • Correct or delete your personal information.
  • Object to processing or withdraw consent.
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.

To exercise any of these, email leroux.johannes@gmail.com.

9. Security

Reasonable technical and organisational measures are in place to protect personal information, including HTTPS-only transport, access controls, and encrypted storage where supported by our operators.

10. Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date above and notify active clients by email.
